Just after this story aired on KUNR, friends who knew my history at United Blood Services asked if this story referred to me--but of course, they questioned that adjective "nice." Easy to find the story online, and yes, over a period of about 18 years, Edie took my blood for Garrett. Others donated for him as well. Though no fan of large needles, I strongly believe in donating blood, a way of sharing something useful that you already have. Covid-19 means fewer opportunities for mobile drives, but the need for blood never reduced.
